Guarantor Step-by-Step Full Guide


This Guide will help you on your way through all details of the Reference Form! Guiding you through each step in the process and giving you some helpful hints along the way.

Step 1: Entering Personal Details

The first thing you will have to enter when you  login  to the portal are a couple of Personal Details. The 
personal details section is indicated at the top of the page by the following icon: 

Steps:

 
  1. Enter Full Legal Name, Full Legal Name >  e.g. Joe Bloggs
  2. Enter your number where we can contact you on (preferably a mobile), Phone Number > e.g. 0777 123 4567
  3. Enter your Date of Birth, Date of Birth > e.g. 12/07/1995
  4. When you have confirmed these details click NEXT STEP at the bottom of the page

When entering your date of birth you can click on the month and year at the top to help you quickly scroll through!









 

 

Step 2: Adding Your Current and Additional Properties

You are now in the Residential History section where you need to list your address history. You can see that you are in the Residential History section as it is titled Residential History and the following icon is highlighted at the top of the page: 


Steps:

  1. Select your Residential Status Residential Status > e.g. Rented

  2. If you select Residential Status > Other  a sub-menu will appear called Accommodation Type  and you will also have to fill this out, Accommodation Type > e.g. Short-term Rental (Hotel, Hostel, Airbnb)
  3. Fill in all the relevant details as explained in the following sections
  4. Once completed click +ADD THIS ADDRESS
  5. You will be asked to fill out three years worth of addresses, and will not be able to proceed without a full three years 
  6. When you add an address you will see a summary card showing the property address, referee if applicable, and the number of years at that address. It will tell you how many years of residential history you still need to add, just below the ‘Add Another Property’ title as can be seen on the image below. 
  7. To edit a property click > Edit Property in the top right hand corner of the property cards and edit following the same steps as above and click Save Address when finished editing. To remove the property click  > Remove Property in the top right hand corner of the property cards as shown below
  8. Once three years of addresses are submitted  you will see that the app will tell you you have finished by saying ‘Property History Complete’! At this stage you can now click NEXT STEP at the bottom of the page and proceed to filling out your identification details!

After step 2, dependent on which Residential Status you select, the form will look slightly different. But worry not! I’ll go through them all with you or you can just skip ahead to the one for you by clicking the links below!

Step 3: Adding Your Identification

You are now in the Identification section where we ask you to give us some forms of identification. You can see that you are in the Identification section as it is titled Identification and the following icon is highlighted at the top of the page: 

Steps:

  1. This page will first ask you if you have been know by any other names or aliases within the last 6 years. 
    1. If you have not, then click I have been known by other names or aliases within the last 6 years > Toggle Left to grey . If you have not then proceed to step . 
    2. If you have, then click I have been known by other names or aliases within the last 6 years > Toggle Right to green Then please list the full names of these aliases or other names Aliases or Other Names > e.g. Anthony Wise
  2. Please now enter your nationality from the drop down, Your Nationality > e.g. United Kingdom. If you have dual nationalities, please enter the nationality of the documents you are submitting!
  3. You now have to tell us which documents you are uploading! What we need from you here is depends on whether you are a tenant or guarantor, and if you are renting in England or another part of the UK
    1. If you are a tenant renting in England, you will need to abide by Right to Rent regulations. Please follow the link to understand what documents are needed
    2. If you are a guarantor or a tenant renting in Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland you will need to upload a copy of government issued identification
    3. Once you have found out which identification you can use and upload, from the drop down choose Type of ID Supplied > e.g. Passport. Note that more than one type of ID can be chosen
  4. Dependent on which Type of ID Supplied you have chosen, the form will ask you to upload a copy of that document. Click Upload a copy of your e.g. Passport > 
    1. This will open up your My computer file or equivalent. Select the file which has the photo or scan of your document and click Open to upload the photo onto the app
    2. If you are doing this from your phone select the photo from your Camera Roll or Pictures and click Open or you can even open up your Camera and directly take a photo of the document!
  5. Make sure that the photo of your document follows the guideline outlined on the app just under where a sample photo is shown as this is very important!
  6. We finally ask you for your National Insurance number. If you know your National Insurance Number, select I have a National Insurance Number > Toggle Right to green Then input, National Insurance Number > e.g. AA111111A
    1. If you don't know your National Insurance number select I have a National Insurance Number Toggle Left to grey 
  7. Once this is all completed and you have double checked it you can click NEXT STEP to proceed to the occupation section!
 

Step 4: Adding Your Occupation

You are now in the Occupation section where we ask you to give us information on your occupation and any income sources you may have. You can see that you are in the Occupation section as it is titled Occupation and the following icon is highlighted at the top of the page: 
 

Steps:

  1. Select Occupation Occupation > e.g. Employed
  2. If you select Occupation > Other a sub-menu will appear called Please Select Source of Income and you will also have to fill this out, Please Select Source of Income > e.g. Independent Means
  3. Fill in all the relevant details as explained in the following sections
  4. Once completed click +ADD THIS OCCUPATION 
  5. You can add as many occupations (or income sources) as you want
  6. When you add an occupation you will see a summary card showing the occupation type, job title if applicable, and the gross annual salary for that occupation
  7. To add another occupation simply click +Add Another Occupation and you will restart from step 1
  8. To edit an occupation click Edit Occupation in the top right hand corner of the occupation cards and edit following the same steps as above and click Save Occupation when finished editing.
    1. To remove the occupation click Remove Occupation in the top right hand corner of the occupation cards as shown below
  9. Once you have added all of your occupations you can proceed by scrolling down on the occupation card page to the Credit Information section!

Step 5: Adding Your Credit Information

The credit section lies at the bottom of the occupation section. Once you have filled out all of your occupations you will scroll down and see the credit section, titled ‘Credit Information’ as seen below. 
As you are still in the occupation section, the same icon is highlighted at the top of the page: 

Steps:

  1. First you will be asked to read a warning message. Please click I Have Read and Understood This Toggle Right to green  to proceed
  2. If you have had any County Court Judgements or Court Decrees ordered in the last 6 years, click Do you have any County Court Judgements or Court Decrees? > Toggle Right to green 
    1. If you do not, click Do you have any County Court Judgements or Court Decrees? > Toggle Left to grey 
  3. If you have been declared bankrupt in the last 6 years, click Have you ever been declared bankrupt? > Toggle Right to green 
    1. If you have not, click Have you ever been declared bankrupt? > Toggle Left to grey 
  4. If you have been subject to an IVA in the last 6 years, click Have you ever been subject to an IVA? > Toggle Right to green 
    1. If you have not, click Have you ever been subject to an IVA? > Toggle Left to grey 
  5. Once this is all completed and you have double checked it you can click NEXT STEP to proceed to the signing of the declaration!

Step 6: Signing the Declaration of Information

You have now entered the final stage of the referencing form! This section is where you confirm everything that you have filled in the form and give us permission to run a credit search on you, contact your referees, and carry out fraud prevention, credit assessment and insurance decisions, and will need to sign. You can see that you are in the Declaration section as it is titled ‘Declaration’ and the following icon is highlighted at the top of the page: 
 

Steps:

  1. Read the Declaration statement carefully
  2. Double check all of the information you have submitted in the form! You can easily go back to each section by clicking on the icons at the top of your page and all of your information will have been saved for you to review as shown below
  3. To sign the declaration you have two options: Signature or Text
  4. If you choose signature you will need to use either your finger (on a touchscreen device) or the mouse to trace out your signature and skip to step 6 Write Signature
  5. If you choose Text this will allow you to simply write your name and a text signature will appear in the box,  > Type your Name
  6. Click SUBMIT REFERENCE to complete your reference form!
